    • Hi Tim. Very good points thanks. I find that there is a tendency in me to make a gesture or as you call it interruptions while someone is talking, but the reason I do it is to show the person that I am listening….. So how can I show a person I'm paying attention and I'm hearing them if I can't make those "sounds" , or go yes? Oh, and I'm from South Africa. 😎

  • It happens very often, even for people who understand the power of listening, to not be able to listen because you are too excited for your turn to speak. We are just too in love with our opinions so we can't wait to show everyone how smart we are. That's a lot of ego. A good listener knows how to tame his ego.

  • Great advice, I have caught myself many times in conversation waiting for the other person to stop talking just so that I can speak and it's definitely counterproductive to do this when you want to build any kind of relationship with someone. Thanks for your hard work, I truly enjoy your channel!

  • Amazing!!!! I've never heard these tips before!!! So for me to remember these more:1. Listen to understand (not to respond)2. Reduce microexpressions/nonverbal cues that tend to interrupt 3. Power of pause (find the sweet spot just before awkwardness)Love these! I will definitely try to apply these. Thanks, Tim!
