Comments to How To Be Successful: 5 Factors Based On Science

  • Tai broke down what he meant by "conscientious" pretty damn well… But I prefer the word "multidisciplinary." Multidisciplinary is a single adjective that self implies multifaceted specialization, or complexity. You know when you hear "multidisciplinary" it means dynamic efficiency. When I here "conscientious" I think focused, but you can't focus on the target without targeting the focus. Organization and the four other traits Tai mentioned are disciplines. Conscientious is too broad of a term for most people to simplify to it's true meaning which is endless in potential. Conscientious sugar coats the difficulty with success… Everybody is conscientious to some degree. However, few are multidisciplinary… Few are successful.

  • The reason people don't like the "multi-faceted" answer is because it is not "sexy." As you say people want their "cheese on top of their broccoli" so though I've argued multifaceted perspectives, most do not want to engage and would rather watch a debate between two polarizing opinions, god forbid some harmony and progress come out of it…

  • Not sure but wasn't it Tai who also said that perfectionists never get anything done because they get too caught up on something and then don't ship it?

    Mottay July 2, 2017 11:01 AM Reply
  • I tend to push things too far trying to get things perfect till they literally break. How do I know when enough is enough and that what I have created is not just adequate but excellent work? I also get analysis paralysis where I get kinda stuck in concepts instead of taking action because of fear of failure…or maybe success I don't know. What would be a good way to knock myself out of the circular thinking and on to taking action even if the stress is high?

  • Everything comes down to a choice. Success is also a choice. Are you going to put in the work or are you going to stay lazy? As Roy T. Bennet said ´Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make, makes you. Choose wisely.´

    • Run For Millionaire So true… You're just a bunch of choices. If you choose optimism, happiness, success over pessimism, sadness and failure, then people look UpTo you. If it's the other way round, you'll be seen as a stupid. It's just the choices that make a man who he is.

  • I thought this was surprising and funny because in my class of around 200 students I was selected by the teachers for the award Most Conscientious, and I was voted by my class as Most Likely To Succeed, so the two go together. I'm on my way to success. However, what they didn't know is I asked myself after winning those, "What is my definition of success?" and my personal answer involves to keep learning, being my real self, doing what I enjoy doing, making products that help people, and sharing information with other people to benefit them. The majority of people wouldn't guess that because for example instead of buying expensive things I would rather travel, and instead of a normal job I read many books that I find interesting. I decided to take my own unique path and because of what I have discovered and learned even so far it was totally worth it and I'm happy within myself that I went the way in life that I want to go.

  • the only one thing u need to be successful is the ability to admit your wrong LOL because by doing so you either 1. prove your right consistently , in which your already successful but you stay that way … and 2. you consistently learn in all ways. but as soon as u say I have this that and the other thing and become content that's when bad luck happens and you end up with a sign offering labor for food on the service drives of dense cities..and for those Christians who say all I need is trust god will protect me and I can be as ungodly as I want I urge you to reread kjv the new testament`s last book of sub-books chapter 3 verse 17…. and remember, just cuz life may suck now doesn't mean it always have to be that way

  • Working smart and hard. Example: I need to learn investment strategy, terms,, and application process. So 10 hours reading might seem hard, but it pays off. 10 hours is just a number, and I believe it's 10,000 hours that equals mastery. The point I think I'm making here is be aware of what your body, mind, and emotions are going through. I would put myself in a training camp, even if I don't like all of it, because I can remember the "why".

  • Perfectionism can be a good things once you gain a certain level on your craft, but I think if somebody wanna start something new, being perfectionist in this case, can stop him from taking action, because he will say to him self, I can do something well, only if it's worth.
