  • I'm not sure if it's social media making people narcissist.

I think it's just a lot of people who have no true confidence. They are unaware of their emotions and what's truly important in life. And then they end up having children and teaching them the same things. And then it's just an unhealthy cycle.

A bunch of people walking around not knowing who they truly are and not being authentic. The may turn to platforms on social media to get that validation. I'm not sure if it's a sense of entitlement but I think it's a bunch of people walking around with masks on looking for a quick fix of significance. Instead of truly developing it within.

Narcissism and cockiness is nothing but low self-esteem. Having parents that are emotionally unaware can't authentically provide emotional support to a child. And that's why they grow up this way!

  • Bob Marly said: emancipat your self from mental slavery. Narssicis are enslaved to their idolatry of self. So in a world full of subconscious minds that may be all connected to each other as a universal thought (ie social media), you have to free yourself and become your own thinker. And that will be what sets you apart and pretty much that scares the world. I read this book called Think and Grow Rich and we are forever evolving and also against and unseen collective mind. I believe that Narssicistic people are following a trend, that universal mind. Leaders are those who can go against the grain, people who are free from what soceity is saying the controlling factors are this is what all through history the greatest conquers like Europeans, heros like Harriet Tubmen, success stories like Oprah, great thinkers like Einstein and whoever wrote the different Books of Religions all were free thinkers. ( And doers) some of us won't receive these type of opportunities but we can free ourselves daily by knowledge and building our core beliefs and not being easily influenced by social pressures and preceptions.

  • You are right to the point and speak the truth. People will stay on the course they are set on as a child until they learn differently. My Dad used to say it starts out (credit or blame) is "on the parents" but after a person grows up, its on them. And if you were lucky enough to have parents that pointed you in a "self determining direction" you had a bit of a head start. We need to teach people to be victors and not be victims.

  • Though my dark triad test results had me at 40% more narcissistic than most people (15% & 9% for the other 2) it's never gotten to the point of getting in the way of my working for what I succeed at. Anyone who thinks that one can succeed without having to earn it, regardless of their level of narcissism, machiavellian level nor psychopathy, or lack there of is plainly delusional. Unfortunately I think my partner is too psychopathic and delusional to the point, believing there is no way to improve from here. I'm exactly the opposite, no matter what it is, or what angle, I want to improve forever.

  • Try to tell a very socialistic minded person to the core, that their demands are unreasonable without having to deserve it first, they believe that everybody deserves it regardless of anything, as if we're all faceless robots in the Borg. Though I do agree with some socialistic values, like helping those in need in a serious and longterm way, but otherwise you have to have integrity no matter where you stand, or you will one day fall.

  • Hey Tai…Love your material. I'm a psychologist, and I can say the trend where I am (even with my friends) is that people are becoming much more isolated – spending time alone with their computers. As good as all of this information is, it's not an organic two-way process. Ask Dr. Buss what the difference between connecting with someone online and in person is…There is an energetic connection and a sharing that is needed for a lifetime between us that's simply not present in texting, emails and online. While these things help us to make it easier to connect at a moment's notice, it doesn't help to grow our biology in quite the same way that face to face connections do. This "trend" leads people to become more "self" centered, because the relationship with a computer is directed inward and not outward, as much. A balance of energy in both directions is needed for us to be balanced, healthy and fulfilled for long periods of time. I hope this helped a bit, and please keep that flame of yours burning bright…You're doing some great work! PS: Relationships are foundational building block of how we become successful as well, so having sincere people to be around, helps us get "there." I know you understand this, but these days business is becoming much more self-centered, too…This mentality long-term, cuts off the trust – we all need – so that we can help each other survive and prosper. This next statement is and should be at the heart of every relationship we have…"We literally couldn't do this – without each other." And, so it is…Enter instant respect and appreciation for one another:)

  • I absolutely agree with this, epigenetics carries over to peoples psychology (meaning peoples actual genes are being influenced by social media) as well of course. I admit I could be wrong but I just look around me and conclude what seems to be the most clear.I could write many decent essays on this (or maybe if I'm good enough just wrap it all up into one), many people could.I spent a lot of time trying to debunk the deservedness (among others —after all for truth I've been taught to seek falsity as opposed to truth (to avoid confirmation bias)) thing but its like the more I try to debunk it the more it becomes clear that it has wider reaching consequences than I previously thought. From my ability to have senses (which comes as a result of evolutionary adaptation, a kind of deservedness I've inherited from ancestors that if they didn't try to adapt and deserve heck perhaps humans would be extinct or maybe I'd only have a sense of smell and generations would perpetually be the meal of some lion) to even the likelihood of humans avoiding future extinction (likely through our own demise as opposed to some other cataclysmic event like a meteor hitting us — although even if this occurred to deserve avoiding it we should have been humble enough in the past to take in technological adaptations earlier and hopefully advance earlier to the extent that we'd have the technology to destroy the meteor as opposed to standing around being helpless because we didn't deserve the technology in the past to destroy the meteor either now or some future time).Great stuff.

Lori Murguia September 4, 2017 7:19 AM Reply
  • I've been studying Narcissistic Personality for many years. I've had to go no contact with close family members. I despise Narcissism with a passion. The prominent quality or symptom of a Narc is a "Lack of Empathy." And they do NOT love themselves, as many people think, they actually hate themselves. They put on a false front, or a facade (mask) to try to derive self-worth from outside sources of supply. Most are very intelligent, charming, and deceitful. Tai, has empathy for others. He feels for others and expresses genuine empathy~He doesn't try to be something he's not~ I believe from watching him these past few years that Tai is a genuine Loving person, and definitely not a Narcissist. Narcs also have NO true or close friends~Tai has many friends, and some very, close friendships. The people who say Tai Lopez is a Narcissist need to do some research and get the facts. MickyMicky Mike, do your research, hater, and stop calling Tai something you know nothing about. Start by taking a good look at yourself.

excessive or erotic interest in oneself and one's physical appearance.
    vanity, self-love, self-admiration, self-absorption, self-obsession, … moreantonyms:

extreme selfishness, with a grandiose view of one's own talents and a craving for admiration, as characterizing a personality type.

self-centeredness arising from failure to distinguish the self from external objects, either in very young babies or as a feature of mental disorder.

Money, fame , good looks, adoration. Why didn't they feel that great about themselves? Narcissistic is a mask for low self esteem. It hides underneath many masks. Entitlement? Yeah, another form of low self esteem. Ever work a retail job? There you will find the most "entitled" people who think buying an item made in China somehow makes them better than you. But we all know it's just a mask of them making another person low to makes themselves feel better from their own pit of misery.
