  • i like rule 5 the best, but just to be picky, re the beatles, just before their first hit album, they fired their drummer, because he was better looking and taking the spotlight, and hired ringo. so wheres all that work? does that still count?

  • Thanks for another great video. The 10,000 hour rule has really shown to be true in my life. I have spent over 40 hours per week for 50 weeks for 5 years (10,000 hours) in Management and Supervision and have gotten really good I've that time.

  • I like rule number 4: Gain experience. People who are not scared of the world go out and do things that they would have never thought they would have done. Building businesses and watching them fail. Learning from that experience and trying again and again till it was stuck in the mind that if I continue to do the same thing and end up with the same results, it'll drive one insane. So experimenting causes different outcomes. Listening to customer feedback and deciding whether to take heed or dismiss is a big thing. Ever look at an insurance or a retirement fund and wonder where are they getting all that money? They take the premiums and invest. For good or bad outcomes, they take those risks in hope and belief through years of knowledge knowing that they have to put that money in many baskets in hopes that one will return with great abundance, and that one could cover the loses of the others. Just food for thought. Never put all your eggs in one basket.

  • "RITUALS DEFINE US. ALL THE RESULTS IN YOUR LIFE ARE COMING FROM YOUR RITUALS. THEY START WITH A STANDARD BUT IT’S THE RITUALS THAT FOLLOW IT UP. IF YOU ARE WHERE YOU WANT TO BE PHYSICALLY, YOU HAVE VERY DIFFERENT RITUALS FROM PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT WHERE THEY WANT TO BE PHYSICALLY. IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT, YOU AND I BOTH KNOW THAT YOU HAVE A DIFFERENT RITUAL THAN IF YOU ARE PHYSICALLY FIT. YOU GET UP IN THE MORNING, WHAT’S THE FIRST THING THAT YOU DO IF YOU’RE FIT? YOUR SHOES ARE THERE, YOU ROLL OVER, IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW YOU FEEL, YOUR IDENTITY IS AN ATHELETE. YOU PUT ON YOUR SHOES AND GO FOR YOUR WALK OR YOUR JOG OR WHATEVER THAT RITUAL IS. IF YOU ARE OVERWEIGHT YOU HAVE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RITUAL. YOU MIGHT ROLL OVER SEVERAL TIMES AND TURN THE ALARM CLOCK OFF. YOU GO IN AND GET YOUR “MOCHA SMOKAH” AND YOUR SUGAR MUFFIN AND, WHATEVER IT IS THAT YOU DO, IT IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RITUAL. IF YOU HAVE A GREAT PASSIONATE RELATIONSHIP, YOU HAVE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RITUALS THAN IF YOU HAVE A LOUSY RELATIONSHIP. IF YOU COME HOME AND THE FIRST THING THAT YOU ARE DOING IS THAT YOU ARE TWEETING SOMEBODY OR YOU’RE E-MAILING OR YOU ARE FLIPPING ON THE NEWS OR YOU DON’T EVEN COME HOME…WHAT ARE THE RITUALS? WHEN YOU STUDY PEOPLE THAT ARE SUCCESSFUL, WHAT I LOOK FOR ARE WHAT ARE THE STANDARDS THAT THEY HOLD THEMSELVES TO. WHAT ARE ALL THOSE LITTLE RITUALS THAT ADD UP? BECAUSE THINK ABOUT IT, SUCCESS AND FAILURE ARE NOT GIANT EVENTS. THEY DON’T JUST SHOW UP. YOU DON’T JUST SUDDENLY BECOME SUCCESSFUL OR SUDDENLY HAVE THIS CATACLYSMIC EVENT THAT MAKES YOU FAIL. IT MAY LOOK THAT WAY BUT, FAILURE COMES FROM ALL THE LITTLE THINGS. IT’S FAILURE TO MAKE THE CALL. IT’S FAILURE TO CHECK THE BOOKS. IT’S FAILURE TO SAY I’M SORRY. IT’S FAILURE TO PUSH YOURSELF PHYSICALLY TO DO THINGS THAT YOU DON’T WANT TO DO. AND ALL THOSE LITTLE FAILURES, DAY AFTER DAY, COME TOGETHER UNTIL ONE DAY, SOME CAYACLYSMIC EVENT HAPPENS AND YOU BLAME THAT. AND THAT HAPPENED BECAUSE YOU MISSED ALL THE LITTLE STUFF. DO YOU AGREE WITH ME? AND, SUCCESS BY THE WAY, IS NOT SOME OVERNIGHT EVENT EITHER. IT’S ALL THESE LITTLE THINGS. SUCCESS IS HAVING A VISION. SUCCESS IS MAKING IT COMPELLING. SUCCESS IS REALLY SEEING IT AND FEELING IT EVERYDAY WITH STRONG ENOUGH REASONS. SUCCESS IS FEELING THE SENSE THAT I AM HERE TO GROW AND I’M HERE TO GIVE SOMETHING TO THE WORLD FOR MORE THAN JUST MYSELF. SUCCESS IS CARING ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE. SUCCESS IS CALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY AND SAYING I LOVE YOU FOR NO APPARENT REASON. OR SENDING A NOTE… THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR RELATIONSHIP. HAVE A RITUAL OF SOMETHING FUNNY, PLAYFUL, OR SOMETHING THAT SURPRISES YOU. HOW MANY RELATIONSHIPS ARE DEAD TODAY BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO SURPRISE RITUALS ANYMORE? YOU NEED TO HAVE SOME RITUALS, SOME COOL THINGS THAT YOU DO THAT NOBODY ELSE DOES THAT GIVES YOU A BETTER LIFE THAN ANYBODY ELSE HAS. ALL THE LITTLE STUFF. THAT’S WHERE SUCCESS COMES FROM. IN BUSINESS IT COMES FROM DELIVERING MORE THAN ANYONE CAN IMAGINE. ALL THOSE LITTLE THINGS, PEOPLE GO “WOW”, THAT’S WHO I WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH. IT’S TRUE IN ANY AREA OF YOUR LIFE. SO, IF YOU LOOK AT SOMEONE WHO IS REALLY SUCCESSFUL, YOU THINK “WOW”, THEY ARE SO AMAZING, THEY ARE SUCH A GENIOUS. MY FRIEND, YOU‘VE GOT TO DIG UNDERNEATH AND YOU’VE GOT TO REMEMBER SOMETHING. PEOPLE ARE REWARDED IN PUBLIC FOR WHAT THEY PRACTICE FOR YEARS IN PRIVATE." Tony Robbins

  • I feel that we tend to look at the end story and never realize how much work it took for many people to get to where they are. I like looking at videos how others worked hard and struggled to get where they wanted to go. It helps to know that we need to take our time and work each day even if it's only for 5 minutes to achieve our plans.

  • I feel like the 10k hours rule is so overrated by people. It isn't about getting to that specific number it is as Malcolm puts "waking up early and getting to practice" everyday. That's what matters, stop focusing on the end and realize that the process, the experience is what makes you an expert.
